In late Summer of 1961, several members of the Circleville Kiwanis Club and representatives from Division Ten of the Ohio District, Kiwanis International, contacted four persons in the Ashville community (Warren Bastian, Franklin (Bud) Glitt, John Little and Benis Lutz) and scheduled a subsequent meeting to discuss the possibility of forming a new Kiwanis Club in the Ashville area. That meeting was held in Donaldson's Restaurant (where the Ashville Apothecary is now located). From that discussion came the decision to recruit members and charter a new club under the sponsorship of the Circleville Kiwanis Club.
